Oven or cooker knobs are control parts used to select functions and set the temperature or timer. They fit onto the shaft of the function selector switch, gas valve, or thermostat and transmit the turning force.
Common issues include cracked plastic, slipping/spinning on the shaft, broken inner mounting, loss of firm positioning, excessive play, heat-related melting, or worn-off markings. In most cases the knob is replaced as a complete piece. It’s important to choose a compatible knob based on the cooker/oven model, the shaft type (D-shaft, splines, etc.), and the fitting depth.
