Refrigerator lamps (including LED lamps) provide interior lighting when the door is opened. The light is usually controlled by a door switch (mechanical) or a magnetic/reed sensor, and in many modern models it’s also managed by the control board.
LED lighting is common because it uses less power, produces less heat, and typically lasts longer than incandescent bulbs. Depending on the design, the light may be a standard replaceable bulb, an LED module, or an LED strip assembly.
Typical problems include: no light (failed bulb/module, bad door switch/sensor, loose connector, or control board fault), flickering or dim light (failing LED driver/module or poor connection), or the light staying on (stuck door switch). Basic fixes are checking settings (some models allow light-off mode), verifying the door switch operation, reseating connectors if accessible, and replacing the bulb or LED module with a compatible part. Always unplug the appliance before disassembly.
