Light buttons (or light switches) in refrigerators control the interior lamp/LED module. In many models it’s a door-activated switch, while others have a dedicated button on the control panel (sometimes used to turn the light on/off or change brightness on premium models).
Common issues include no light (faulty switch/button, broken wiring, loose connector), the light staying on (stuck switch), or intermittent operation (worn contacts). Basic checks are pressing the switch to see if the light responds, inspecting for physical damage, and confirming the door closes properly. For internal disassembly or electrical testing, unplug the appliance first and use a compatible replacement part.
